Who is behind The Baby Project HK?
I’m Glori, a mum of two, a Certified Car Seat Consultant, and a UK Certified Baby Safety & Childproofing Specialist. I started The Baby Project HK because I know firsthand how overwhelming baby gear research can be — and I wanted to help other parents cut through the noise with honest, personalised advice. I work with both local and expat families across Hong Kong, and my services are delivered in English.
Are you affiliated with any brands or shops?
No. I don’t hold stock, I’m not paid by any brand, and I don’t earn commissions on products I recommend. My only job is finding what’s genuinely right for your family.
How are you different from just researching online or using someone else's list?
Online research and generic lists are a great starting point — but they don't know you. My process begins with a detailed questionnaire of over 80 questions designed to understand exactly how you and your family live: your home layout, your routines, your preferences, your budget, and details most people wouldn't even think to consider. Did you know your bed height matters when choosing a bedside bassinet? It does — and that's exactly the kind of thing that gets missed when you're working from a one-size-fits-all list. By the time we get to recommendations, I know your family well enough to say with confidence: this is what you actually need, and this is what you can skip.
Do you work with expat or local families?
I work with both local Hong Kong families and expats, and my services are conducted in English. I understand the specific challenges of shopping for baby gear in Hong Kong, including small flat sizes and knowing which retailers are reliable here. I source products available in the Hong Kong market, and for certain tems that don’t ship directly to Hong Kong, I can help arrange third-party shipping solutions so you still get access to the best options.
Do you only work in Hong Kong?
Our services are primarily based in Hong Kong, where we offer in-person consultations and store visits. That said, we do work with families from other countries — in those cases, the service is adapted to an online format via video call, with recommendations and shopping lists tailored to your local market. Get in touch and we’ll figure out the best way to help you wherever you are.
Services
Where do I start?
With a free 30-minute initial consultation. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure call where we talk through your needs and figure out which service is the right fit for you.
What’s the difference between your services?
There are three paid tiers: the Curated Baby Shopping List (we build your list together and you do the buying), Curated List & Item Purchasing (we buy and deliver everything for you), and Shopping, Room Setup & Decor (fully done-for-you, including nursery setup). We can walk through the options on your free call.
How far in advance should I book?
Ideally in your second trimester — this gives us plenty of time for consultations, sourcing, and delivery before your little one arrives. That said, we know babies don’t always follow the plan, and we’ll always do our best to accommodate last-minute clients where our schedule allows. Don’t hesitate to reach out whatever your timeline.
What stage of your baby's life do your lists cover?
Our curated lists cover everything from birth through to just before your baby starts solid foods — so all the essentials for those first months of life. Feeding equipment for solid foods (highchairs, weaning gear, and so on) is not included. Milk feeding — whether breastfeeding or bottle feeding — is covered, as that starts from day one.
The Process
What does your service involve?
It depends on which package you choose, but in general: we start with an in-depth consultation to understand your lifestyle, space, budget, and preferences. From there, the level of support varies — from receiving a fully personalised shopping list you can use to buy everything yourself, all the way to having everything researched, purchased, delivered, and set up for you. Whatever the service, everything is tailored specifically to your family — no generic lists, no one-size-fits-all advice.
Do you come to my home?
Yes, in-person consultations and store visits are part of the process. Full nursery setup at your home is available as part of our most comprehensive service tier. For other packages, we meet in person for consultations and store visits but the setup element is not included.
Can I contact you after my service is complete?
Absolutely. Follow-up email support is included after your service is delivered — and honestly, think of me as that friend who happens to know almost everything about baby gear. I’m here even after we’ve wrapped up, because questions always come up once real life kicks in.
Payments & Cancellations
How much do your services cost?
The Curated Baby Shopping List starts from HKD 6,000. Pricing for other services is provided upon enquiry. Your free initial consultation has no cost.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. Once payment is made and a service is confirmed, we do not offer refunds. If you need to reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice and we will do our best to find an alternative date. Less than 24 hours’ notice is not eligible for rescheduling.
What payment methods do you accept?
Please contact us to confirm available payment methods for your service.
Safety & Expertise
What does your Car Seat Consultant certification mean?
It means I’m formally trained to assess car seat safety, fit, and installation — not just to recommend a product, but to make sure it’s the right one for your car and your child, and that it’s used correctly.
Do you cover baby-proofing and home safety?
Baby-proofing is typically a natural next step once your initial baby gear and nursery list is sorted. As a UK Certified Baby Safety & Childproofing Specialist, I can advise on making your home safe as your baby starts to move and explore — think of it as phase two, once the basics are in place.
